Principal Investigator, Program Director:  
Patrick J Gannon, PhD
Patrick Gannon was trained as a physical anthropologist and comparative neurobiologist and has made seminal contributions to
the discipline that are recognized worldwide.  He is director of the comparative neurobiology of language research lab and co-director of the Rhinology research lab in the Department of Otolaryngology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  In addition to his educational outreach duties as the Defying Gravity program director, he teaches gross anatomy to medical students, head and neck anatomy to surgical residents and basic & clinical neurobiology to biomedical sciences graduate students.


Associate Director:  Nancy M Kheck, PhD
Dr. Nancy Kheck is the Associate Director of Defying Gravity and the Assistant Dean of Curriculum at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She holds a PhD in Neuroscience. Dr. Kheck has authored two Defying Gravity lessons.

Consultant:  Craig M Rothstein, MA
Craig Rothstein is the creative consultant for the Defying Gravity project. He is responsible for design, editing and layout of lessons & labs; producing the newsletter from concept to completion; writing and designing www.defyinggravity.net; and working with Dr. Gannon to ensure quality production of curriculum content.
